Keywords.

Anchorage- A caption or key element that connects with an image and sets the viewer towards a certain area. E.g The image of Jackie Chan Anchors the audience.
Cropping- The cutting and trimming of photographs to focus onto key elements of the image or to fit a certain space. E.g
Semiotics- The evaluation of of signs. A scheme to deconstruct and analyze visual and moving images and takes a look at the cultural choice that generates cultural meaning. E.g
Juxtaposition- The placement of two acts or instances side by side for an comparison or contrast. E.g Birth and death.
Mise-en-scene- The placement of setting, props, decor, lighting, actors, characters, positioning and other technical elements in a shot or frame that a film maker would have to consider. C.L.A.M.P.S. E.g Lighting from back.
Homage- When a film director pays tribute to another by inserting images scenes or stylistic features that the other director has used to emphasise on the importance of them. E.g Simpsons Godfather episode.
Demographics- The information of the population regarding their social class, class, gender and age that a film maker has to consider. E.g Working class, middle class and upper class.
Psychographics- Using the demographics of a certain area of the population to arbitrate attitudes and taste. E.g
Binary opposition- Narratives structured around oppositional elements in human culture. E.g Good and evil, life and death, night and day, raw and cooked.

Iconography- Distinguishing elements, in terms of props and visual details, which charaterise a genre. E.g
